Christian Conti is new CEO of Sympany
The new CEO at Sympany is Christian Conti. He will start in his new role on 1 November 2023. Until then, Suzanne Blaser and Christian Meindl will continue in their roles as Co-CEOs ad interim.
Basel, 28 September 2023 – The Board of Directors of Sympany is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Christian Conti (53) as CEO of Sympany. He will take up his new role on 1 November 2023 (subject to approval by the supervisory authorities).
Christian Conti is not only considered a proven expert in the insurance market, but also a far-sighted leading personality with extensive experience in the HR, strategy and management areas. From 2017 to 2022, Christian Conti held the position of Head of the Non-Life business area at Generali Schweiz. In this function, he was responsible for product management in private and corporate client business, as well as for the areas Pricing, Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Reinsurance and Claims/Benefits Processing.
Before joining Generali Schweiz, Christian Conti was CEO of Orion Rechtsschutz-Versicherung from 2011 to 2017 and a member of the senior management of the parent company Zurich Insurance. He previously held various positions within the Zurich Insurance Group and in law firms. Christian Conti holds a doctorate in law from the University of Bern. He holds a Master of Laws degree from University College London and an Executive MBA from the IMD Business School Lausanne.

Until Christian Conti takes up his post, Suzanne Blaser, Head of HR/Corporate Functions, and Christian Meindl, Head of Finances and Corporate Business, will continue to lead Sympany as Co-CEOs ad interim.
